St. Louis Trip

We just got back from St. Louis, and boy are my arms tired...

Overall, the trip was definitely a success and everyone had a great time. We came back with mostly everyone.

Our first stop was at a retirement home in Noble. We played a couple of pieces for the elderly and a few of us played some solos. After that we rocked their faces off with some pep band tunes. When we finished playing we went around and talked to some of the residents. Most of them enjoyed it, and some of them liked it so much they couldn't even control themselves.

After eating at the local Pizza Hut, we hit the road until we finally rolled into St. Louis around 4:30 in the morning. We checked in, got a couple minutes of sleep, and then got ready to see the Thomas Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, or Arch for short.

First we went and got some vittles at the Pantera Bread, and then moved on to the Arch and museam. The Arch was fun, but we didn't get to go out on top of it. For some reason, they wouldn't let us throw caution into the wind so we could get a better view.

Next we went to the World Aquarium where we got to pet sharks and sting rays and even a snake. It was fun, but they made us crawl around everywhere.

That night we drove around the city. At some point the driver thought it would be best to drive donuts in the middle of the street and take us into alleys in downtown St. Louis. Eventually we made it to the Jazz club where we got to hear Revi Coltrane, son of the legendary John Coltrane.

We started off the next morning with a ride on the metro to a contemporary art museam. After staring at a stain on the floor for ten minutes, we hit the next metro back to the riverfront, where we had lunch on the riverboat Tom Sawyer. It was by far the best lunch I'd had all day.

The afternoon was spent at the mall where a few of us jumped on a trampoline and got facials. We then headed over to the Hard Rock Cafe were I celebrated my nineteenth birthday, apparently.

We finished up the evening with a night at the symphony. The symphony was great. Amateurs compared to the Byng Band, but still pretty good.

We arrived home around 6:00 the next morning, thus concluding a great trip to St. Louis. I hope next month's band trip to St. Louis will be just as fun.
